2005-10-18 - STX Services forms part of Climex Alliance
Oct. 18 (Bloomberg) -- APX BV, an owner of European power and gas exchanges, said it helped form the Climex Alliance with energy exchanges in the Netherlands, the U.K. and Spain and with brokers in the Czech Republic for emissions trading.
The alliance links APX's UKPX and APX bourses, the New Values platform in the Netherlands, the Spanish exchange SENDECO2, STX Services and Vertis Environmental Finance, which help trade emissions and have offices in central Europe, APX said in an e-mailed statement.
The alliance will provide "a truly pan-European reach supported by strong and well-established regional partners", Javier Tordable, the chief executive of SENDECO2, said in the statement.
Clearing of spot emissions trades under UKPX and U.K. law "will be an important benefit to both our members, as well as the energy-intensive users, and will greatly reduce the risk for the trading counterparties,' Jeremy Hall, the U.K. director for APX,
said in the statement.
